Two Towers and the Town Hall

At the beginning of this tour we climb up the tower of St. Mary’s church. From a height of 40 meters you have a wonderful view over Osnabrück and its surrounding areas. Directly below you can see the historical town hall, which we visit next. Its well-known „Hall of Peace“, the old council hall, reminds since 1648 the Peace of Westphalia. Another interesting building is the "Bucksturm", "Bürgergehorsam" a former fortification tower out of the 12th century. There you will discover a very special one-man-prison, which is called "Johanniskasten".
